KANA YAMADA

Shiho Etori from Tokyo spent her younger years watching films, and was greatly influenced by a documentary that showed a woman editing negatives for film creation. Her experience in wind ensemble during her middle and high school years led her to enter the film and recording program at Nihon University College of Art, Department of Cinema. She joined the recording club where she created films but struggled with the weight of microphones and the intuitive aspect of sounds. After graduating, she began working as an assistant at the Active Cine Club, where she witnessed the film making process. The company and the CEO helped her pursue a career as an editor, and she has worked on commericals and promotional video for six years before becoming a freelancer. Later, she worked with SPEC, a management company, and has been working for CONNECTION since August 2017. She focuses on editing that brings out sounds and maximizes raw footage.
